Firefighters battling blaze at Woolacombe petrol station
A “large” fire has broken out at a petrol station forecourt in north Devon.
Eight fire stations are on the scene at the Murco petrol station on Station Road in Woolacombe, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said.
The fire service said the blaze started in a vehicle and spread to the retail shop.
Firefighters confirmed the petrol pumps were unaffected by the fire.
Residents in the area were being asked to keep their windows and doors closed to the smoke.
Police added: “Due to a large fire on Station Road in Woolacombe the roads leading to this location will be closed until further notice.”
Fire services said paramedics treated one woman for smoke inhalation.
